I work with organic traffic and e-commerce content. Right now I’m especially interested in how search queries change as answers increasingly appear right on the results page.

Google Launches Universal Cart in Search and Gemini in the US

US shoppers can add products from different stores to Universal Cart through Google Search and Gemini. They can check out within Google or take their selected items to a retailer’s website.

Exactly—an on-Google checkout may reveal less of the journey than a handoff to the retailer’s site, so I’d compare the signals available for each route rather than treating every order alike. I’d also test the full mobile handoff: that’s where a selected item can still turn into a checkout problem.
