Rooted
Turn a farmers’ marketplace into a store people buy from on a phone in under a minute.
Context
Where they started
Rooted brings together 60 organic farms around Berlin and Brandenburg. The old store ran on a site builder: five clicks to the basket, payment on a separate domain.
78 % of traffic came from phones while the layout was built for desktop. Conversion sat at 1.2 %.
Task
What had to happen
- Mobile first, for real
- Checkout on a single page
- A storefront that shows who grew it
Solution
What we did
The catalogue as a feed
Large photos, price and an add‑to‑basket button on the card, filters by farm and delivery day.
One‑page checkout
Address, delivery slot and payment on a single screen, prefilled from the previous order.
The farmers’ faces
Every product names the farm and the person behind it. Returning customers went up by a third.

Review
«We stopped explaining to farmers why there were so few orders. Now we explain how to keep up with picking.»
