Context

Where they started

Chat Desk is the studio’s second in‑house product and part of the GoRanked ecosystem. Agents work in it all day, so the app keeps a persistent connection to the server: a new message arrives instantly, even when the window is minimised.

One codebase builds for four platforms. GitHub Actions builds and publishes the Windows and macOS releases, and the app updates itself.

Solution

What we did

01

One window for every chat

Site chats, order chats and product chats — in one feed with filters by status, priority and tag. New messages arrive over WebSocket, and the typing indicator shows in real time.

The customer next to the conversation

Orders, total spend, notes and tags are visible right in the chat. Assign, transfer, snooze or close a request in two clicks or with a hotkey.

AI suggestions and quick replies

The model suggests replies based on the conversation; templates are called up with “/”. The conversation and the draft can be translated if the customer writes in another language.

Team tasks

A kanban board for support: assignees, deadlines, comments, recurring tasks and automation rules.

Four platforms, one codebase

Electron for Windows and macOS, Capacitor for iOS and Android. Updates ship through electron‑updater with delta downloads: only the changed part is downloaded.
