Jetpack 16.3 Adds Video and Meeting Booking Blocks to WordPress
Jetpack 16.3 introduces blocks for VideoPress playlists and Zoom meeting bookings. The update also expands Forms and reorganizes the plugin’s settings.
On October 9, 2026, Search Engine Journal reported the release of Jetpack 16.3. The WordPress plugin update adds three blocks for displaying videos and booking meetings, expands Forms, and reorganizes settings. It also improves accessibility, security, and checks of the site’s connection to WordPress.com services.
Videos, meeting bookings, and forms
Two of the new blocks are for VideoPress. Latest Videos Playlist automatically adds new site videos to a playlist, so there’s no need to add each published video manually. All Playlists lets visitors see collections in one place. Both blocks can be inserted into any WordPress post or page.
The third block, Zoom Scheduler, adds Zoom meeting booking to a post or page. Visitors can book a meeting without leaving the site.
Existing VideoPress tools have been updated, too. Site owners have more options for customizing how playlists appear and for managing and sharing videos. The player also loads more efficiently, though the report does not say how much loading times have changed.
Forms now has conditional logic: the questions shown can change based on a visitor’s answers. This makes it possible to ask for information relevant to a particular inquiry. The controls for deleting spam and other responses have also been updated, with protection against accidental permanent deletion.
Settings, accessibility, and security
The Products tab has been replaced by Features. It brings Jetpack’s feature toggles together and shows whether each feature is available for free or requires a paid plan. Newsletter controls are more compact, too: email delivery settings and categories have been moved into a single sidebar.
Jetpack Stats settings are now in the Stats dashboard. Previously, they were accessible through Jetpack settings, leaving users of the standalone Stats plugin without a screen to manage them. The settings are now available to both groups.
Jetpack has changed how it checks a self-hosted site’s connection to WordPress.com cloud services, which power Stats, Activity Log, VaultPress Backup, Search, Scan, and VideoPress, among other features. It has fixed false connection warnings, including those in Site Health. When a problem is real, the notification identifies the affected account. Reconnecting now restores the site owner’s connection without disconnecting other users.
Interface tooltips are easier to open with a keyboard and can be closed with the Escape key; screen readers also announce their content. Keyboard navigation and label legibility in high-contrast mode have been improved for charts. Comparison lines in the VideoPress chart are now easier to distinguish for people with color vision deficiencies.
Security fixes address request parameter handling in Infinite Scroll, login checks in Account Protection, and validation of saved block attributes. The report does not describe specific attack scenarios: these are stronger checks in those three areas.
What changes for site owners
If a site regularly publishes videos, the automatic playlist removes the need to update a collection by hand. All Playlists lets visitors browse video collections together without requiring a separate page for them. Zoom Scheduler lets someone move from reading a post or page to booking a meeting without leaving the site.
For marketers, Forms’ conditional logic offers a way to ask visitors questions that fit their situation. But the wording still needs thought: controlling when questions appear does not automatically make them clear. Site managers may also find the interface changes useful: Stats settings are now available from the Stats dashboard, while feature controls are gathered under Features.
There are content-related additions as well. The instructions for connecting Jetpack AI through MCP have been expanded to name ChatGPT and Codex among the supported applications. The Daily Writing Prompt widget has gained a Freshly Pressed tab featuring posts hand-picked by WordPress.com editors. Sites connected through Jetpack are automatically eligible to appear there; selection criteria include originality, clear headlines, and readability.
My take
As the owner of a small studio, I’m particularly interested in letting people book a meeting right from a page. I’d first use an existing tool to see whether people find this way of booking convenient, rather than invest immediately in building the perfect system. For a small business, that’s a sensible way to test demand without an expensive launch or reliance on custom development.
But one block won’t solve everything. If the surrounding text doesn’t make clear what someone is booking, or the right action is hard to find, the page will still be difficult to use. Even a small site needs readable copy and clear buttons.

I sell tableware and run workshops in Tashkent. I want to be able to update collections quickly on the website and let people book classes without calling.

On my textile store, a playlist would make it easier to group care and styling videos without remembering to update it after every upload. Before adding the Zoom Scheduler, I’d check whether bookings sync reliably with our calendar and what support is available if the block stops working after an update.

Just to clarify: the Latest Videos Playlist is the one that automatically adds newly published VideoPress videos; All Playlists simply gives visitors a place to browse your existing collections. For Zoom Scheduler, does the release say whether bookings sync with external calendars, or is that something you’d need to verify in your setup?

The release notes I’m referring to don’t specify external calendar sync, so I’d verify that in the actual setup before relying on Zoom Scheduler for customer bookings. For a small studio, a quick test booking and cancellation is a lot cheaper than sorting out missed appointments later.

@mantas.backend, in a small demo I once wired up a booking form, and calendar sync was the bit that ate more time than the block itself—so I’d test that end to end before putting Zoom Scheduler on a real page, because apparently buttons have hobbies.
